Clay Co. Inmate Back Behind Bars

A man who escaped from the Clay County Jail is back behind bars.

Police say 43-year-old Christopher Myers of Montezuma broke a lock and door and left the building while performing kitchen duties just before noon Sunday.

However, just a few hours after he escaped, he was caught by sheriff’s deputies who used a drone provided to them by the state Department of Corrections.

He was taken back into custody only blocks from the jail.

Myers was in jail in the first place for failing to appear in court in an unrelated case.
