Gibson County was tied with Boone and Hamilton Counties for the state’s lowest unemployment rate in January at 2.3%.
For Gibson County, that’s seven-tenths percent higher than January of 2022.
Daviess County had the second lowest unemployment rate in the state at 2.4%, six-tenths percent higher than the year before.
Dubois County’s jobless rate in January was 2.5%, nine tenths’ percent higher than January of the previous year.
Martin County had an unemployment rate of 2.8% in January, one percent higher than January of last year.
Knox County’s rate of 3% was also one percent higher than January of 2022.
Pike County had a jobless rate of 3.3% in January, also a one percent increase from the year before.
Sullivan County’s unemployment rate of 3.9% was nine tenths’ percent higher than last year.
Greene County’s rate of 4,1% was 1.5% higher than the previous year.
The average jobless rate of all 92 Indiana counties in January was 3.4%.
