VERNON, Ind. (WISH) — A Vernon woman was charged after her daughter had been exposed to THC gummies.

On February 3, the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Jennings County Emergency Medical Services and the Spencer Township Fire Department, responded to a 911 call reporting an unconscious five-year-old female at a Spencer Township residence.

Police arrived and located the unconscious juvenile. The Juvenile was transported to Ascension St. Vincent hospital in North Vernon by helicopter and to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital shortly after for further treatment.

The juvenile regained consciousness a day after being admitted to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital and was discharged a day later.

Police collected information from the juvenile’s mother Amanda Johnson and investigated in collaboration with the Indiana Department of Child Services. Investigators determined that the juvenile had been exposed to a package of THC infused gummies that caused her to act abnormal before falling unconscious a day later.
