Suspected Shoplifter Arrested After Police Pursuit and Ramming Police Vehicle

A Vincennes woman is facing multiple charges following a police chase from Gibson County into Knox County Monday evening.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says the pursuit ended at the Cannonball Bridge after 55-year-old Michelle Williams crashed into a barrier and struck a Princeton Patrol vehicle.

Williams was wanted for allegedly shoplifting at the Princeton Walmart and battering store employees.

After receiving medical clearance at Good Samaritan Hospital, Williams was booked into the Knox County Jail on felony charges of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with Bodily Injury and Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle, and Misdemeanor charges of Reckless Driving, Criminal Mischief, and Criminal Recklessness.

Williams is being held without bond in the Knox County Jail.
